Information for Parents/Guardians of After School Academy Students:
Attendance, expectations & reminders

Parents and Guardians of After School Academy Students:

1. Attendance is NOT optional - If your child is going to be absent from ASA because of illness or an appointment, please contact the office or your child's ASA teacher just as you would for a regular school absence. Students are NOT to decide for themselves whether or not they want to attend on a particular night or not.  The funding we receive from the state to pay for ASA is based upon student enrollment and attendance. If students that are signed up to be here are not, we will run short on funds and run the risk of having ASA discontinued in the future.

2. Appropriate behavior - Most students have been displaying this and doing a wonderful job of showing respect towards their classmates and teachers. Just a reminder that the behavior expectations for ASA are the same as for the regular school day. *Students are not allowed outside between the end of the school day and ASA.  Students have from 2:50-3:05pm on ASA days to work on their homework. We strongly encourage students to use this time to do their school work. Repeat inappropriate behavior may result in removal from ASA.

4. Continual Learning Plans (CLPs) - CLPs will be filled out with your child at ASA. CLPs identify academic areas for your child to focus on not only in ASA, but also in the regular school day and at home. If you would like to see your child's CLP, please contact us and we will get you a copy.

Thank you for your support. Please contact us with any questions or concerns!
